Friday Pilgrim Prayers at Noon

On Friday's at Noon

Normally, prayers for pilgrims are said every Friday at noon, at the Shrine of St David. We don’t know where exactly in the valley St David lived and came close to God in prayer. But since the 14th Century, this shrine – beautifully restored nearly 10 years ago – has been the place where pilgrims have focussed their prayers to David’s God and ours. Friday pilgrim prayers are generally led by a member of the Cathedral Chapter – the senior clergy of the Diocese of St Davids who are the governing body of the Cathedral. Each of them spends two or three weeks a year living here, and sharing in the life of worship, mission and ministry, with the Dean and Sub-Dean.
The Dean has invited the Canons, from their homes across the Diocese of St Davids, in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, to lead these prayers week by week, and to share a short reflection on the pilgrim life in which we are all called to follow where Jesus Christ leads us. The Dean begins this at noon on Easter Friday, 17 April. You can find this and future week's prayers on our our social media and You Tube channel.
