Retail Manager

The Dean and Chapter of St Davids Cathedral are seeking an energetic and experienced shop manager who would enjoy the opportunities that the newly created post of Retail Manager will offer.

St Davids is Britain’s smallest city.  Set in the stunning Pembrokeshire landscape, it is a magnet for tourists with the Cathedral welcoming more than 250,000 visitors annually in recent years.  The Cathedral currently has two shops (within and just outside the Cathedral) and will open a new shop in the heart of the city this summer.  An online shop has recently been set up.

The Retail Manager will take hands-on charge of these shops and work with other staff to create and deliver a coherent retail strategy, providing visitors and residents with an attractive retail environment offering a good range of high quality gifts and books relevant to the Cathedral.

Experience of retail management, particularly within a heritage, faith or tourism setting, is essential for this role.  You will need an outgoing personality with great customer service skills, an ability to develop teams, to create partnerships with colleagues and suppliers, and an aptitude for verbal and written communications.

Salary £26,461 - £29,355 per annum, according to experience.
Accommodation at an attractive rate may be available.
