Lay Staff

Chris joined the staff as Dean’s Verger (Head Verger) in May 2022, having previously served as Vesturer (Head Verger) at Canterbury Cathedral. He had earlier served as Head Verger of Salisbury and Portsmouth cathedrals, and as a verger at Wells Cathedral, having begun his ministry as the Assistant Verger in his home diocese at Llandaff Cathedral. Chris is a graduate of Canterbury Christ Church University, with a Masters Degree in history, is honoured to be a Fellow of the Guild of Vergers, and a member of the Deans Vergers Conference.

Morgan has been Canons' Verger since December 2022 after previously serving nearly 3 years as Assistant Verger here in the Cathedral, after studying for a degree at Swansea University in Criminology and Criminal Justice. In his spare time, Morgan enjoys walking, fishing and rugby, representing St. Davids RFC First XV.

Janet joined us in 2013 after a career in teaching and advising schools in the Diocese of Leicester. Following this she became Education Officer at Leicester Cathedral. She is also a Lay Reader, experience which is invaluable as she walks alongside fellow pilgrims here in St. Davids.
